Notes:
This station originally had a fog signal only; a light was added in 1890. The island is now a wildlife preserve, the Año Nuevo State Reserve. The former keeper's quarters and other buildings left from the light station are now used by the University of California at Santa Cruz as part of a research facility within the reserve.

Description of Tower: 1890: Lantern mounted on water tank; 1915: Square pyramidal skeletal tower with enclosed upper portion, destroyed 1976.

This light is not operational

Date Established: 1872

Date Deactivated: 1948

Fog Signal: Steam-driven horn.

Current Use: Destroyed.
