Notes: This is one of France's more remote offshore lighthouses and was considered one of the more difficult stations to live in. The tower was originally built between 1857 and 1862 as a daymark. The French Navy requested a light, but it took nearly two decades before the tower was turned into a lighthouse. Tower Height: 82 Height of Focal Plane: 56 Characteristic and Range: Five flashes every 20 seconds; range 18 nautical miles (white sector) and 14 nm (red sector).
