 Date Established: 1824  Date Present Tower Built: 1859  Date Automated: 1965  Optics: 1859: First-order Fresnel lens, still in use.  Current Use: Active aid to navigation.  Open To Public? No.  Museum?The former keeper’s dwelling houses the Navy’s Command Display Center, with exhibits on the history of the lighthouse and Naval Air Station. The Pensacola Lighthouse is open for tours from noon to 4 p.m. Sundays between Memorial Day and Labor Day. The last tour begins at 3:30. Special group arrangements can be made with the Coast Guard Auxiliary volunteers. Tours are free. Children under 6 are not allowed to climb the tower.  Directions:Route 295 leads to the Naval Air Station, where you can receive directions to the lighthouse.
 Keepers: Jeremiah Ingraham (1824-1840, died in service); Michaela Penalber Ingraham (widow of Jeremiah Ingraham, 1840-1855), Joseph F. Palmes (or Palmer or Palmers) (1858-1861), Robert McCormack (1863-?).
