Notes: In 1927 Hospital Point Light became a range light, with a light in the steeple of Beverly's First Baptist Church serving as the rear range light. The lights are 2,050 yards apart. It is believed that the only other harbor light in a church steeple was in Charleston, South Carolina, and was discontinued in 1865.
