Notes: The North Wirral Coastal Park rangers are based in Leasowe Lighthouse, which is the oldest brick lighthouse in Britain. It is said that 660,000 bricks were used in its construction. The lighthouse houses a handicapped-accessible visitor center with displays about Leasowe Lighthouse, the North Wirral Coastal Park and the Wirral coast. In addition, the lighthouse is open to the top on the first and third Sunday in the month, April to September, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. From October to March, it is open on the first Sunday in the month from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The top floor is reached by climbing a spiral starcase of 130 steps. Small children are not allowed to go to the top. Tours are guided by either rangers or volunteers, and leave the ground floor every 20 minutes, with a maximum of 15 persons per trip.
