Michigan’s Big Sable Lighthouse will be open to the public daily from 10 AM to 6 PM from May 1 through October 27th of this year.
A donation of $2.00 for adults and $1.00 for children ages 6 through 12 is requested to climb the tower with no charge for children ages five and under.
The lighthouse is accessed by foot or bicycle via the service road, which originates in the Pines Campground at Ludington State Park in Ludington, Michigan. The round trip walking distance is about 3.5 miles. However, bus transportation will be available from the State Park Visitors Center on June 15, July 27 and September 21 at a cost of $1.50 per person.
