The Smalls’ cow at St. Croix Island was named Blossom. Connie once prepared a blueberry pie for visitors only to find that Blossom had eaten the pie. “She raised her head at my approach,” wrote Connie, “her nose all blue, juice running from her mouth as her big brown eyes said, ‘It’s very delicious.’” Back to the edition of: Aug/Sep 2004
