Notes: The property was transferred in 1997 to the Dept. of Lands and Water Conservation (now the Dept. of Infrastructure, Planning & Natural Resources). The active light is still maintained by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority. The Norah Head Lighthouse Trust Board was formed in 2002 to work for the preservation of this station. Engraved in Latin at the entrance to the tower: "Once a danger, now safe." Tower Height: 89 Height of Focal Plane: 151 Characteristic and Range: White flash every 15 seconds. Description of Tower: White, cylindrical concrete tower.

Directions: The lighthouse is a 10-minute walk from Norah Head Tourist Park in New South Wales, which is 1 1/2 hours north of Sydney and 40 minutes south of Newcastle.
