Notes:
This is the second tallest concrete lighthouse built by the U.S. (the tallest is Navassa Island Lighthouse in the West Indies, which is 162 feet tall). In May 2003, the tower was declared surplus property, and ownership has now been transferred to the Town of Caswell Beach.

Characteristic and Range: 4 white flashes every 10 seconds.

Description of Tower: Cylindrical concrete tower; upper third black, middle third white, and lower third gray.

Optics: DCB-224s with 480-volt mercury arc lamps.

Current Use: Active aid to navigation.

Open To Public? Occasionally.

Directions:
Take Route 133 South to the end and turn left into Caswell Beach. The lighthouse will be on your left. The tower is generally closed except for occasional open houses.
