This lighthouse is the tallest of its type in the U.S.

Characteristic and Range: 3 white flashes every 20 seconds (two short flashes followed by a 7-second flash), red sector

Description of Tower: Octagonal masonry tower covered by iron plates, with alternating black and white vertical stripes.

Directions:
This lighthouse is located near Fort Story and the first Cape Henry Lighthouse. The grounds are not open to the public, but it can be seen from the old tower, within Fort Story off Route 60 in Virginia Beach.
