The lighthouse is located in Point Sur State Historic Park. The Central Coast Lighthouse Keepers, a nonprofit organization, works with California State Parks to manage the property. Ownership of the property was transferred to CA State Parks in April 2004.

Optics: 1889: First order Fresnel lens (now on display at the Allen Knight Maritime Museum in Monterey, in the Monterey State Historic Park near Fisherman's Wharf). 1975: DCB-224.

Fog Signal: Steam whistle (removed 1971).

Current Use: Active aid to navigation in state park.

Open To Public? Yes.

Museum?
Volunteer-led three-hour walking tours are available. The tour includes a rise in elevation of 360 feet and two stairways of 40-50 steps each. Tours are year round, but may be cancelled due to extreme weather; even in summer be sure to be prepared for cold and windy conditions. Check www.pointsur.org for schedules and more information.

Directions:
Tours start from the west side of Highway 1 at the farm gate, 19 miles south of Rio Road in Carmel, 1/4 mile north of the Point Sur Naval facility.
