Date Established: 1931 Date Present Tower Built: 1931 Current Use: Active aid to navigation. Open To Public? No. Directions: Public access to this light is blocked by an active Coast Guard station. It can be seen distantly from the east pier across the Welland Canal. According to Susan R. LeFever: A good but still distant view is possible from the road immediately west of the Welland Canal. It's supposed to be Government Rd. but the sign said something different. You can drive to the end of the paved road and still go a bit further. The road forks, left to Coast Guard, right turns to dirt.
