The Ilhas Desertas (Deserted Islands) are made up of three rocky islets of volcanic origin (Chão, Bugio and Deserta Grande), located about 22 nautical miles from Funchal. They are part of the Madeira Nature Park. Tower Height: 46 Height of Focal Plane: 367 Characteristic and Range: Two white flashes every 15 seconds, visible for 13 miles. Description of Tower: White cylindrical concrete tower on square equipment room.
