Notes:
Before this lighthouse was built there was some question of whether the site was in New York or New Jersey waters. New York conceded the site to New Jersey. The lighthouse was offered for free to any qualified nonprofit or government agency. When none came forward, the government put the lighthouse up for auction in March 2011, and the lighthouse was subsequently sold to the highest bidder for $90,000 and it is now privately owned.

Continue east on Main Street to the second light and turn right on Broadway. Continue south on Broadway for 7 blocks to John Street. Turn left on John Street, crossing the RR tracks, and turn right at the stop sign onto Roswell Street, which soon becomes John T. O'Leary Blvd. Continue through the recently developed waterfront community to the entrance to the park on your left just before you reach another RR crossing. The park road ends in a circle next to the bay and there is ample free parking. (Thanks to Steve Wright for the directions.) For another view, follow NJ Route 36 and 35 into Perth Amboy. Turn right at Smith Street, then right again at Front Street. Continue past the Armory Restaurant to the free municipal parking area. The lighthouse can be seen about 0.9 mile to the southeast. South from Staten Island: From Conference House Park in Tottenville take Hyland Boulevard north to Page Avenue and turn left. Enter NY Route 440 and cross over the Outerbridge Crossing. Take Exit 3 (NJ 35/Victory Bridge Avenue). Turn left at Smith Street, right at Front Street to the parking area.
