Notes:
This lighthouse was discontinued in 1891 because it was often obscured by fog and low clouds. It was replaced by the new Point Loma Light. The National Park Service has restored the interior to the 1880s period.

Museum?
The lighthouse is open to the public from 9 am to 5:15 pm every day from the day after Labor Day (September) to July 3. From July 4 to Labor Day the hours are 9 am to 5:45 pm. Admission to Cabrillo National Monument is $5 per vehicle or $2 per person for cyclists or walk-ins. Visitors can enter the restored interior of the lighthouse. Ranger-led talks, displays and brochures are available.

Directions:
From I-5 South or I-8 west: Exit at Rosecrans St., right on Canon St., left on Catalina Blvd. From I-5 North: Exit and left on Hawthorne St., right on N. Harbor Drive, left on Rosencrans St., right on Canon St., left on Catalina Blvd. Public transportation: San Diego Transit route 26.
