This lighthouse is within Biscayne National Park. For information about boating and other activities in the park, call (305) 230-7275. The Dante Fascell Visitor Center at Convoy Point is located nine miles east of Homestead on S.W. 328th Street (North Canal Drive), adjacent to Homestead Bayfront Park and Marina.

Description of Tower: Cast iron skeletal tower with integral keeper's quarters.

Date Automated: 1974

Optics: 1878: First order Fresnel lens; now VRB-25, solar powered. The original 1st order Fresnel lens is now on display at the U.S. Coast Guard’s Aid to Navigation School in Yorktown, VA.

Current Use: Active aid to navigation.

Open To Public? No.

Directions:
The lighthouse can be seen very distantly (photos are possible only with a very long lens, probably at least 400mm) from the area near Cape Florida Light; it is accessible by boat or plane only.
