Horseshoe Reef Light, built to mark a reef that was a hazard on the approach to the Port of Buffalo, originally consisted of wooden keeper's quarters on an iron framework, surmounted by a lantern. The structure gradually disappeared after the light was deactivated in 1920. The remains are now on the Doomsday List.
