This lighthouse replaced a lighthouse built at Pointe de Raz in 1839. That tower still stands and serves as a signal station.

Characteristic and Range: Occulting three times every 12 seconds (2 + 1 pattern); range 18 (white), 13 (red), and 14 (green) nautical miles.

Description of Tower: Square pyramidal stone tower.

Fog Signal: Horn; 3 blasts every 60 seconds.

Current Use: Active aid to navigation.
