Phyllis Beer writes: "In 1954-55 I used to play on this beach as we lived in cottage #3 that was within yards/meters of this lighthouse.  I was about ten years old.  The lighthouse had a large red diamond on the side and still had the walkway to the door.  I used to walk around the base of the lighthouse even if the tide was nearly up to the top of the base. Thanks for the memories."

Height of Focal Plane: 36

Characteristic and Range: Fixed red.

Description of Tower: White, square pyramidal tower with red lantern and red stripe.

This light is operational

Date Established: 1890

Current Use: Active aid to navigation.

Open To Public? Grounds only.

Directions:
Near Victoria Park in Charlottetown, look for Queen Elizabeth Drive and Brighton Road, and find the lane which goes to the shore opposite York Lane.
