Eldred Rock Lighthouse, the oldest original lighthouse in the state of Alaska, will finally get the attention it deserves after standing abandoned on a remote island in Northern Lynn Canal since it’s automation in 1973. The Eldred Rock Lighthouse Preservation Society, a non-profit based out of Haines, Alaska, has signed a five year lease, renewable for four more terms, with the Coast Guard.  For more information, visit their website, www.eldredrocklighthouse.org or Facebook page at www.facebook.com/EldredRockLighthouse.
