Stella Prince Terry and her husband, George, are shown here on the Black Eagle, a boat that was owned by George Maxon Vail, whom George Terry worked for. The Black Eagle started out as a pleasure yacht, but when Vail purchased the vessel, he turned it into a working fishing boat. George M. Vail retired in 1919, and Charles Vail took over the business, mostly fishing in the Montauk area. In 1929, the boat was sold to David Parsons and was wrecked in Montauk, New York, during the 1938 hurricane. (Photo courtesy Southold Historical Museum)
