Wesley A. Pingree worked for many years at the Metropolitan Pumping Station on Deer Island, shown in this photo with the tall smoke stack. The white building at the center, resembling a keepers’ duplex, was the engineers’ house, where Wesley and Josephine Pingree lived for 25 years.
