Milton Reamy’s son, Octavius H. Reamy, followed in his father’s footsteps as keeper and even served with him at Minot’s Ledge for five years as his 1st assistant starting in 1910. In 1915, Octavius then took over as head keeper for another nine years. “Oc” went into service at Graves Lighthouse in 1905 for five years before transferring to Minot’s, and then went back to Graves for 15 years in 1924, bringing his total years of service to 34, just one year shy of his father’s career total. He is shown here in the kitchen of Graves Lighthouse. (Lighthouse Digest archives)
