Photo Caption:

After Miss Fannie’s passing, Nils lovingly saved her collar which is a cherished family heirloom. The engraving says, “Miss Fannie Eldred Rock L.H.” The cloth that it sits on is an official USLHS (United States Light House Service) kerosene cleaning towel distributed to Nils to wipe down the kerosene range lamps, but his wife, Hilma, thought they would make better kitchen towels, so she swapped them out and gave Nils old rags to use to clean the lamps.
