Nils P. Adamson, born on December 17, 1869, served as a surfman in the U.S. Life-Saving Service for five years, a lighthouse keeper in the U.S. Lighthouse Service for eight years and then a keeper of range lights for 24 years before retiring in 1935. He died in Coos Bay, Oregon on June 18, 1944.
