During one of the hurricanes that the family lived through, the wind had blown open the door to the garage, which was located a short distance from the keeper’s quarters. Keeper Warrington’s son, George III, wrote, “My Dad was worried about the damage to his car, so he decided to go down to shut the door, but the force of the winds blowing across the hill was so great he literally had to crawl back, digging his fingers into the dirt to help from being blown off the hill and into the water.” (Courtesy George W.
