Following his Coast Guard service and while working as a firefighter, in 1996 Joe Dupras co-founded Life-Safer, Inc. which developed a U.S. Coast Guard approved water rescue and personal flotation device known as the “Personal Retriever.” He worked with Paul Driscoll again to design the device which combines a throw rope and a life ring.
