When Samuel Holbrook’s body was recovered near Swan’s Island three months after his drowning in June of 1918, he was buried temporarily in the Grindle Hill cemetery there. He was later moved to the Ocean View Cemetery in South Thomaston where his wife, Bertha Royce Holbrook Hanley is buried with him. (Courtesy of Heather Godfrey Willis)
