The tender Manzanita is docked at the Tongue Point Depot in Astoria. This 1917 photo was taken at the time Axel E. Anderson was serving aboard her as the assistant engineer. Axel would later spend much of his 35-year career at the Depot, continually repairing and refitting her whenever the need arose.
