Henry Gattie was an enterprising man. As well as being a highly respected lighthouse keeper, he was somewhat of a successful entrepreneur who dealt in selling farm implements. He was also the president of the Peninsula Automobile Company of Sturgeon Bay. He is shown here with a 1912 Buick 4-cylinder automobile. The hat that he is wearing has a lighthouse on it with the letters
U S L H E, which stands for United States Light-House Establishment. (Photo courtesy Door County Maritime Museum.)
