This rare image from the 1915 book The Hudson River: Today and Yesterday, by Arthur Platts Abbott shows how the Four Mile Lighthouse on the Hudson River in New York appeared from the water. The 25-foot tall tower had a focal plane of 93-feet above water. It was painted brown with a black lantern.
