Photo Caption:

Carl E. Sherman, far right, is shown here with family members. The year of this photo is unknown. It is known that he was related to William Masters who served as a lighthouse keeper at Maine’s Owls Head Lighthouse from 1838 to 1841 and again from 1845 to 1849. One relative’s memories recalled that Carl Sherman kept a large collection of guns in his home. Interestingly, Harry Masters, grandson of Owls Head Lighthouse keeper William Masters, married Carl Sherman’s sister Eva. Upon his death Carl Sherman was buried in Round Pond, Maine.
