Adelma McGarland Wasgatt, wife of lighthouse keeper Ambrose Wasgatt. At some point in her life she stopped using her given name of Adelma and began using the name Delia. When she died, her obituary read said, “Many hearts were saddened by the death of Mrs. Ambrosse Wasgatt, though reconciled to it as an end to grievous suffering. Her name will always be associated with the lighthouse here, and she was held in high esteem. Her home was a happy one, and the hospitality there was earnest, warm-hearted, and kind. She was a devouted member of the Methodist church. During her long invalidisim, she had devouted care from her husband and daughter Marion.” She married Ambrose Wasgatt when she was only 15 years old, and the couple had their first of seven children when she was 16 years old.
