Photo Caption:

The Little River Lighthouse in Cutler, Maine as it appeared during the time that Edward Noyes was the lighthouse keeper from 1866 to 1870. In 1876, a new tower was built and the lantern on the tower shown here was removed and the tower was left standing, but capped. In 1888, the old granite structure shown here was demolished and replaced by a wooden keeper’s house that still stands there today. (Lighthouse Digest archives.)
