Larry Gill is shown on one of the four donkeys that were used to bring water and other supplies up to Yemen’s Jabel al-Tayr Lighthouse in the late 1960s until the station was automated in 1971. In late 2007 there was a volcanic eruption at the lighthouse. It is unknown if the lighthouse suffered damage. Back to the edition of: March 2010
